A Selfish Friend

STORY

Students are allow to write the story in their own words on copies and examination, but with correct spellings, punctuation, and sense of sentence. Students can also write the given application on copies and learn for examination.

       Once upon a time, two men were fast friends. One day they were passing through a jungle. During their journey they promised not to leave each other in time of difficulty. Just then they saw a wild bear running towards them. One of the friends was greatly frightened. Instead of saving his friend's life, he just thought of saving his life and climbed up a tall tree. The other did not know how to climb up a tree. He lay down on the ground and held his breath. The bear came up to him. It smelt him and thinking of him to be dead went away. The friend came down from the tree and asked his friend, "What did the bear say in your ear?" The other friend said, "The bear advised me not to be friend with a selfish man."

Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
