ESSAY

       Allama Iqbal is our national poet. He passed his F.A from Murray College, Sialkot. Then he got admission to Government College Lahore. There he did his M.A in philosophy. His teacher Mr. Arnold was very happy with him. Then we went to England and passed the examination of law. He awakened the Muslims. He gave the idea of a separate country for the Muslims of the sub-continent. He was born on November 9, 1877 at Sialkot. He awakened Muslims through his poetry. He wrote his poems at first in Urdu and then in Persian. Some of his greatest books are Bang-e-Dara, Zaboor-e-Ajam, Zarb-e-Kalim and Ba-le-Jibril. He wrote many poems to invoke Muslims for independence. His dream of a separate country for the Muslims became true. Unfortunately he did not live to see his dream come true. He died on the 21st April, 1938.
