ESSAY

       Allama Iqbal is our national poet. He gave the idea of a separate country for the Muslims of the sub-continent. He was born on November 9, 1877 at Sialkot. He awakened Muslims through his poetry. He wrote his poems at first in Persian and then in Urdu. Some of his greatest books are Bang-e-Dara, Zaboor-e-Ajam, Zarb-e-Kalim and Bal-e-Jibril. He wrote many poems to invoke Muslims. His dream of a separate country for the Muslims became true. Unfortunately, he did not live to see his dream come true. He died on the 21st April, 1938.
